About The Conference

The Lagos Digital PR Summit is a two-day experiential gathering of hundreds of Generation X and Millennial communicators, marketers and social media professionals from agencies, B2B, B2C, non-profit, small businesses, students and government organisations focused on achieving collective intelligence to equip and capacitate them with high-level digital media strategies, tactics and how-to’s so they can do their jobs better, train their teammates, and lift their campaign results on social media.

Globally, over two billion people are now on social media and the average user spends nearly two hours a day on the platforms. Studies have shown that three out of four consumers say social media impacts their buying decisions. For sure, these trends will continue as internet penetration increases and more and newer social patterns emerge.

More about Lagos Digital PR Summit

Globally, over two billion people are now on social media and the average user spends nearly two hours a day on the platforms. Studies have shown that three out of four consumers say social media impacts their buying decisions. For sure, these trends will continue as internet penetration increases and more and newer social patterns emerge.

So for communications executives, this begs the question: social media is where some of our target publics are, shouldn't we be there too? Social media, used correctly, can be an executive productivity tool, a global media channel, a source of consumer and competitor intel and a PR vehicle. “You cannot compare the potentials inherent in the 94m internet subscribers for mobile GSM (NCC, 2016) to those of the paltry 1m (or even less) aggregate circulation of the traditional publications”, (Emeka Oparah, Vice President, Communication and CSR, Airtel Nigeria).

But let's face it. Many of the communications professionals don't have the expertise to run a successful social media campaign on their own, which is why so many businesses and professionals today are hiring out the job! It is against this background that Lagos Digital PR Summit was conceived.

Last year, the Lagos State Chapter; the flagship branch of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR); the umbrella body of professional Public Relations practitioners chartered to regulate as well as direct its development and the practice, convened the inaugural Lagos Digital PR Summit to sharpen the skill-set and build capacity of specialize group of communicators to explore the burgeoning new media space to build and maintain relationships.

Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Zinox Technologies Ltd, Mr. Leo Stan-Ekeh was joined by the Commissioner for Science and Technology, Lagos State, Mr. Olufemi Odubiyi, amongst other dignitaries to open the conference.

This edition themed: Building and Managing Relationships with New Media, will hold at The Nigerian Institute of Management, Victoria Island, Lagos from Wednesday 18th – Thursday 19th, October 2017 by 9am – 4pm daily.
